What Are All-Stars?

The TRLL All-Star teams represent our league in local, state, regional, and national tournaments following the spring season. Our teams compete in the Little League World Series (LLWS) tournament run by Little League International – yes, the one on ESPN. Teams are formed for ages 9U through 12U (East & West).

This is considered the highest level of Baseball at 9U through 12U!

🏆What is the Little League World Series?

The Little League World Series (LLWS) is the most prestigious baseball tournament in the world for players aged 10 to 12 years old. It’s the championship of the Little League Baseball program and brings together the best youth teams from across the United States and around the globe to compete in Williamsport, Pennsylvania every August.

This tournament is the culmination of months of play at local, district, state, and regional levels. It’s about more than just baseball — it’s about teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong memories.

How the Tournament Works

• Local League Regular Season: Players begin in their local league. At the end of the season, coaches form All-Star teams based on skill, attitude, and commitment.
• District Tournaments: All-Star teams first compete in their district. Winners move on to the next round.
• Section & State Tournaments: District winners advance to sectional and state-level play. Competition gets tougher at each level.
• Regional Tournaments: U.S. teams (10 regions) and international teams (10 regions) compete for a spot in the LLWS.
• LLWS in Williamsport: The final 20 teams — 10 U.S., 10 international — compete in a double-elimination tournament. U.S. and International champions face off in the final game.

• Held each August in South Williamsport, PA
• Games are nationally televised on ESPN and ABC
• Players enjoy dorms, pin trading, parades, and other fun activities
• Admission is free and family-friendly

🧒For many kids, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete at the highest level of youth baseball while building confidence, friendships, and unforgettable memories. Even if a team doesn’t reach Williamsport, every step of the journey is meaningful and rewarding.

⚾️Time Commitment

• Tryouts take place in early May
• Teams are announced by mid-May
• Practices begin immediately, and games start in mid to late June
• Expect practices 3–5 times per week, including weekends
• Tournament play can last through July or early August if advancing

Our Teams

• We send 8 teams to compete in the tournament.
• East - Comprised of kids from Fair Haven and Rumson
• West - Comprised of kids from Shrewsbury, Little Silver, and Red Bank

Tryouts

Kids are nominated for tryouts by their peers and coaches towards the end of the regular Season.

Tryouts are scheduled by division and will be run by independent evaluators and league representatives. Attendance is mandatory for consideration.

Costs

There may be a uniform/tournament fee for families. We do our best to minimize costs while ensuring quality uniforms and tournament registration.
