TRLL Bat Rules

All TRLL players and families must follow the bat requirements set forth by Little League International. Bats that do not meet these requirements are not permitted in any practice or game.

Baseball Bat Rules

Majors / 12U and Younger

  • Only bats with the official USA Baseball stamp are permitted.
  • 1-piece solid wood bats are also allowed.
  • Bats must not exceed 33 inches in length and 2 5/8" in barrel diameter.

Juniors (13/14U)

  • Bats must have either the USA Baseball stamp, BBCOR certification, or be a 1-piece solid wood bat.
  • Bats must meet Junior Division bat size and safety requirements.

Softball Bat Rules

  • Must be a Little League approved softball bat.
  • Bats must be smooth, round, and no more than 33" in length (34" for Juniors/Seniors).
  • Maximum barrel diameter: 2ΒΌ inches.
  • Non-wood bats must be marked with a BPF (Bat Performance Factor) of 1.20.
  • Must have a proper grip of cork, tape, or composition material (at least 10" long from the handle end).
  • Slippery or unsafe grip materials are not allowed.

Important Reminders

  • All bats are subject to inspection by TRLL coaches and umpires.
  • Using an illegal bat may result in removal from the game and possible team penalties.
  • If in doubt, consult a TRLL coach or board member before using a new bat.
